What to Expect if the Power Goes Out

Living in the beautiful and rugged Northern Bruce Peninsula means the occasional power outage is just part of cottage life. But not to worry—our backup generator has you covered!

If the power goes out during your stay, there’s nothing you need to do. The generator will automatically kick in after approximately 30 seconds to keep things running smoothly.

When the generator is on, you’ll still have access to:

• The stove, oven, microwave, and fridge

•. Most lights throughout the cottage

•. Internet and Wi-Fi

•. The furnace, fireplace, and fireplace fan

•. Water and hot water

A few things that won’t be powered:

•. The hot tub

•. Some lights and electrical outlets

• Laundry facilities

We recommend keeping an eye on what’s plugged in and limiting use of high-energy devices during a power outage.
